Scott is a retired psychologist from San Antonio, Texas and has lived in Ohio for the last 11 years. He has had a long association and love of classical music and opera. His maternal grandmother was a concert pianist and he grew up hearing music of the great composers while she played and taught him. He was a host on the classical music radio program in San Antonio, and gave the opera program there on Sunday afternoons for 3 years. His first opera to attend was Tosca, starring Birgit Nilsson and soon after that made his first trip to the Met and heard Montserrat Caballe as Norma. He has since attended many operas and has had a special interest in the biography of opera stars. A final reason why Scott is so crazy about opera: he was delivered in San Antonio by Dr. Robert Chapman, the husband of Met diva, Dorothy Kirsten. |
