Dr. Sven Friedrich

The Wagner Society of Ohio welcomed Dr. Sven Friedrich to a meeting on October 31, 2007 at 7:30 P.M. in the Canton Museum of Art Dr. Friedrich is Director of the Richard Wagner Museum, Wahnfried, in Bayreuth. Dr. Friedrich is also Director of the Richard Wagner Research Institute and its National Archives. He is also responsible for the neighboring Franz Liszt Museum and the Jean Paul Museum in Bayreuth.

 

 

  

Sven Friedrich received his Ph.D. from the University of Munich and wrote his dissertation on Richard Wagner's theatrical aesthetics. He is the co-editor of the Wagner Spectrum accessible at:

  He curated and catalogued the exhibition Der Ring-Die Szene als Modell, Die Buhnenbildmodelle des Richard-Wagner-Museums und der "Ring des Niblenungen. " He has written numerous essays and books and recently edited a compilation of Wagner writings, librettos and correspondence on a CD for Digitale Bibliothek (www.digitale-bibliothek.de)
